The mother house of the congregation of the Frères Missionnaires des Campagnes, the Domaine du Palis of Prieuré Saint-Martin is located in the heart of the village of La Houssaye-en-Brie, 45 km from Paris, surrounded by a vast wooded park of more than 5 hectares, entirely enclosed. Founded on site in 1943 by Father Épagneul, the Frères Missionnaires des Campagnes (FMC) may be priests or lay persons; they take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience and live in communities of at least four brothers, both in France and in Benin, Burkina Faso, and Togo.

A timeless retreat in a rural hamlet of the Brie region, the estate is ideal for a weekend or a longer stay near Paris, whether alone or in a group. Nearby, you will find local shops, a weekly farmers' market, walking trails to discover the church steeples of La Houssaye-en-Brie, Marles-en-Brie, and Crèvecœur-en-Brie, and hiking paths through the riding trails of the Hautefeuille and Crécy forests.
