Eremo di Lecceto
Founded in 1473
Eremo di Lecceto, in Lastra a Signa in the province of Florence, is a spirituality center of the Diocese of Florence, led by the Sacramentine Fathers (Congregation of the Most Blessed Sacrament) and dedicated to Cardinal Elia Dalla Costa. Founded in 1473 as a hermitage by the Dominican Domenico Guerrucci, the site preserves a church considered one of the finest examples of late 15th-century Florentine architecture, featuring a high altar adorned with a painting by Neri di Bicci. The community places the Eucharist, celebrated, adored, and proclaimed, at the heart of its life and mission.
Set on a hillside at the edge of a holm oak forest, at the end of a cypress-lined avenue with views over the Arno valley, the hermitage offers an ideal setting for silence, prayer, and interior life. It hosts formation sessions, spiritual retreats, days of recollection, times of adoration, and catechesis, for both groups and individuals.
