The Foyer de Charité Notre-Dame de Lacépède is located in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, in the Lot-et-Garonne department, in the commune of Colayrac-Saint-Cirq, a few kilometers from Agen and equidistant between Bordeaux and Toulouse. A community of consecrated lay people and a priest lead the community according to the philosophy of the Foyers de Charité, whose vocation is to help each person find renewal and rediscover the strength to do good. Daily life is shared between prayer, fraternal community, and work.

Present since 1975, the community offers preached spiritual retreats of one week or weekends (recollection, spiritual pause), open to all from age 18, whether alone, as a couple, or sometimes as a family. Believers and non-believers alike are welcomed into a joyful and fraternal house, surrounded by an orchard, woodlands, and the rolling countryside of the Garonne valley, ideal for walks.

Practical information

Accommodation

More than 50 individual rooms with full bathroom facilities. The main building, decorated in a contemporary style, is reserved for retreatants. Each retreatant has their own room. Bed linens are provided for €5.

Meals

Retreats are offered on a full board basis. All meals are prepared on site using local produce. Meals are enjoyed with music, in a warm, fraternal atmosphere.

Manual work

A manual activity (gardening, etc.) is possible during the retreat. Simply mention it to the person in charge of hospitality upon your arrival.

Accompaniment

It is possible to meet with a priest or a member of the Foyer for a free and caring conversation during your stay.

Walks

The vast wooded park of nearly 20 hectares, the orchard, the surrounding countryside, and the heights of the Garonne valley offer many opportunities for walking.

The Foyer is located in Colayrac-Saint-Cirq, 8 km from Agen (Lot-et-Garonne), equidistant from Bordeaux and Toulouse (1 hour 30 minutes by road from each).

Train

3 hours 15 minutes from Paris by TGV, 1 hour from Toulouse, and 1 hour from Bordeaux. Free shuttle from the Foyer de charité to Agen train station during event retreats.

Via the D125 between Agen (6 km away) and Colayrac Saint Cirq (5 km away)

Bike

Along the approximately 500 km of banks of the nearby Garonne river.
