Le Berceau Saint-Vincent-de-Paul
Saint-Vincent-de-Paul Landes Founded in 1581
Le Berceau Center, in the Landes region, is the birthplace of Saint Vincent de Paul (1581-1660), a towering figure of charity in the 17th century who devoted his entire life to caring for and accompanying the poor and the marginalized. He was canonized in 1737, and his spirituality continues to radiate worldwide. Two congregations live on site, the Daughters of Charity and the Congregation of the Mission: they animate this place of pilgrimage, welcome pilgrims and visitors, and share the Vincentian spirituality through sessions and gatherings.
Located in the village of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, six kilometers from Dax and close to the Basque Country and the Atlantic coast, the center welcomes all types of retreats lasting three to five days. Guests come for a few days of rest and renewal in a historically rich setting, between sea and forest, or to discover the life and work of Saint Vincent de Paul.
