Maison de l'Assomption - Orléans
Orléans Loiret Founded in 1968
The Maison des religieuses de l'Assomption in Orléans, located in the Argonne neighborhood (Loiret, Centre-Val de Loire), is run by the Sisters of the Assumption, a congregation founded in Paris in 1839 by Saint Marie Eugénie Milleret. Following the Rule of Saint Augustine, the sisters divide their days between prayer and work, in a fraternal life of joy and simplicity. As missionaries, they are actively engaged in the life of the neighborhood (literacy programs, visits to the elderly, tutoring, spiritual guidance) and in the Assomption Saint-Marc school.
Settled since 2014 in a newly restored house just steps from the Loire River and connected to the city center by tram, the sisters welcome young adults aged 18 to 35 year-round for times of personal and spiritual renewal. A haven of peace in the heart of the city, from which you can explore old Orléans, the Sainte-Croix Cathedral, or the Orléans forest.
