The Monastery of the Visitation of Tarascon, in Provence, is home to a community of contemplative nuns of the Order of the Visitation, founded in 1610 by Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Jane de Chantal and present in Tarascon since 1641. The nineteen sisters, including one novice, ranging in age from 43 to 85, have as their primary mission prayer, praise, and intercession for the world, following the example of the Virgin Mary and the invitation of their founders to "do everything out of love and nothing by force."

Half an hour from Avignon and the Camargue, the Visitation sisters welcome you to their monastery, imbued with the gentle spirit of Provence, a three-hectare haven of peace in the heart of the city. The east wing is entirely dedicated to the guest house, faithful to the Order's long tradition of hospitality. Guests come for a spiritual stay that is restful and fraternal, marked by simplicity and joy.
