Pellevoisin Sanctuary
Pellevoisin Indre Founded in 1876
In the heart of France, in the Indre department, between Tours and Châteauroux, the Marian sanctuary of Pellevoisin is a site of Marian apparitions: it was here, in 1876, that the Virgin Mary appeared fifteen times to Estelle Faguette, a young woman suffering from an incurable illness who was miraculously healed. Entrusted to the Brothers of Saint John since 1999, with a community of contemplative Sisters living near the sanctuary, the spiritual life draws inspiration from the figure of the apostle John and his four pillars: prayer, community life, study, and apostolate.
The sanctuary welcomes pilgrims above all, whether traveling alone, with family, in groups, or as a parish. Retreats are organized throughout the year (Christmas, New Year, Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday), as well as weekends for engaged couples and married couples, and a five-day individual retreat. Visitors can participate in the liturgical offices in the chapel, pray at the tomb of Estelle Faguette, visit the Montbel grotto, and enjoy the grounds.
