In Banneux, Belgium, not far from Liège, the priory and guest house Regina Pacis are run by the Brothers of Saint John, on a site where the Virgin of the Poor appeared eight times in 1933 to Mariette, an eleven-year-old girl, leading her to a spring and announcing that she had come "to relieve suffering." Seven brothers, including one Flemish and one African, have been living a religious life there for about thirty years, grounded in contemplative prayer, the Liturgy of the Hours, and study, within a fraternal community dedicated to various missions.

Just a few steps from the apparition chapel and the spring, the priory welcomes families, groups, and individual retreatants for a guided spiritual retreat, in an atmosphere of prayer and fraternity. The hamlet of Banneux-Notre-Dame, set in open countryside and bordered by forests, offers an ideal setting for meditation, with the sanctuary's twelve chapels, its paths, and its oratories.
