Sainte Marie du Désert — Village de François
Bellegarde-Sainte-Marie Haute-Garonne
Sainte-Marie du Désert Abbey is a 19th-century abbey nestled in the heart of nature, among the agricultural and forested hills of Haute-Garonne, just a few kilometers from the Gers, now brought to life by the association Le Village de François. For more than 150 years, prayer and work shaped the daily rhythm of the Trappist monks who left in 2020. Le Village de François now develops shared and innovative living spaces bringing together vulnerable people and their caregivers, centered on community life, economic activity, and integral ecology.
In this natural setting, the teams welcome you alone, in a group, or as a family for a restorative stay. Retreat, vacation, work seminar, or family celebration: you are supported in creating a tailor-made experience, a time to rest, find peace, and pray.
