We help everyone find a retreat in an abbey, believer or not
A few days at the rhythm of a community, in more than 200 abbeys and monasteries.
Who we are
A nonprofit start-up rooted in the Church
RITRIT was born in 2019. We build our tools with the communities, and we visit them to improve them together.
A small, young team, supported by the Collège des Bernardins and the Archdiocese of Paris.
Our impact
More than 300,000 people have requested a stay through RITRIT
Believers or not, alone or with family, for a weekend or a week.
Free, with no commission: RITRIT relies on donations.

We went as a couple for a weekend at Jouarre Abbey. After 30 years of marriage, this stay helped us strengthen our love. A wonderful welcome, a peaceful place — everything was given to us so we could refocus on our relationship. We especially recommend it to other couples.
I went to Champagne Abbey to study for my medical entrance exams. The place is ideal for that. I was able to work in a setting full of beauty and space, have conversations with monks, find renewal whenever I felt the need, and even take part in the community's manual work. Thank you to them.
I spent four days at Lagrasse Abbey after already having spent a week nearby with friends. I wasn't expecting much, and I was even a little apprehensive since I'm not particularly religious. I went to rest, in a place full of charm and calm, and that's exactly what I got. A wonderful experience of disconnecting, with some beautiful encounters along the way. Highly recommended!

What the monastic orders say
RITRIT is a valuable initiative in the service of monastic communities. By providing new visibility to abbeys and monasteries, this project helps extend the reach of the monastic heritage to all those seeking a place of silence, discernment, and encounter with God. I welcome this collaboration, which serves the Church and its mission.
RITRIT offers a clear and reliable way for people to discover Benedictine monasteries and the hospitality they offer. By giving new visibility to our communities and their retreats, it supports our mission of welcoming all who seek silence, discernment, and a deeper encounter with God.
