Abadia Nossa Senhora de Fátima

Itararé Founded in 1963

Abadia Nossa Senhora de Fátima is an abbey of Cistercian nuns (Cistercian Order) in Itararé, in the state of São Paulo (Brazil). It traces its origins to the Bavarian abbey of Oberschönenfeld, which sent its first missionaries to Brazil in 1951; they founded their own monastery in Itararé in 1963.

The abbey, located on Dom José Carlos Aguirre Street and led by an Abbess, belongs to the Brazilian congregation of the Cistercian Order and falls under the jurisdiction of the Abbot of Itaporanga. The sources consulted describe neither guest accommodations nor the schedule of the Divine Office.
