Carmel de Micy-Orléans à Saint-Pryvé Saint-Mesmin

Saint-Pryvé-Saint-MesminLoiret Founded in 1939

Carmelites Nuns

The Carmel de Micy-Orléans is a monastery of Discalced Carmelite nuns located on rue Claude Joliot in Saint-Pryvé-Saint-Mesmin, in the Loiret, on the site of the former Benedictine abbey of Micy. It continues the Carmel of Orléans, founded in 1617, which transferred here in 1939.

The community belongs to the Carmelite order and lives by silent prayer, liturgy, and fraternal life. The Eucharist is celebrated daily, along with Lauds and Vespers, open to those who wish to pray with the sisters. The Carmel offers spiritual retreats for those aged 18 to 30, with an introduction to contemplative prayer and the possibility of individual guidance from a sister. The monastery is not open for visits.
