Champfromier Monastery-Hermitage

The Champfromier Monastery-Hermitage was established in 1989, settling in the former rectory of the municipality. This foundation was born under the initiative of the Poor Clare sisters of the Rameau de Sion. For 20 years, the small community of religious sisters has maintained a contemplative presence in the heart of Haut-Bugey. The sisters live according to the spirit of Saint Clare of Assisi, in prayer and poverty. Throughout the year, they welcome guests for spiritual retreats.
