Convento dos Perdões (Brothers of Saint John)
Salvador Founded in 1992
Brothers
The first priory in South America, our Saint John Priory is located in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, at the edge of the tourist district. Since November 1, 1992, the feast of All Saints' Day, Cardinal Dom Lucas Moreira Neves called us to assist in the formation of seminarians in philosophy and theology and to provide spiritual guidance. Our community apostolate quickly extended to the poor, serving as chaplains to the "Alto da Esperança" favela. Several days a week, the brothers go to hear confessions at the Bonfim sanctuary. We also have within the priory a Saint John formation and retreat center, with special attention given to young people.
