The Monasterio de Santa María de la Expectación is home to a community of Benedictine nuns in the old town of Cuenca (Castile-La Mancha, Spain), on Calle de la Esperanza. The monastery, also known as the Monasterio de las Madres Benedictinas, was founded on December 14, 1448, at the initiative of Pedro Arias de Vamonde, a canon of Cuenca. The building, which overlooks the Huécar valley, is listed as a site of cultural interest.
The community belongs to the Congregación Monástica de Santa Hildegarda, which has brought together Benedictine convents from Spain since 2019. According to the DeClausura foundation directory, the nuns welcome guests. The sources consulted do not detail the office schedule.
