Nuns

The Monasterio de Santa María la Real is home to a community of contemplative Dominican nuns of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario federation, in Bormujos, in the province of Seville (Andalusia, Spain). Founded in Seville in 1409 on Calle San Vicente, the community was the first convent of contemplative Dominican nuns in the city. After the sale of the old, dilapidated building, it relocated to the Los Candeleros estate, where the new monastery was inaugurated in 1976 and the church in 1992.

According to the DeClausura directory, the monastery has a guest house and a shop. It is open for visits in the morning and afternoon. Mass is celebrated daily, and Vespers are held in the evening.
