Monastery of Our Lady of Grace

Guilford Founded in 1947

Nuns

The Monastery of Our Lady of Grace is a monastery of cloistered Dominican nuns located at 11 Race Hill Road, in North Guilford, in the town of Guilford, Connecticut (United States). It was founded on January 21, 1947, by Mother Mary of Jesus Crucified and fourteen sisters who came from the monastery in Summit, New Jersey. The first monastery burned down on December 23, 1955; three sisters perished in the fire.

The adoration chapel is open to the public every day for Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours. The monastery welcomes up to seven women, lay or religious, for private retreats in silence, as well as priests. The gift shop sells books and items made by the nuns: candles, pottery, and maple syrup.
