Monestir de la Santa Familia

ManacorSpain Founded in 1969

Benedictines

The Monestir de la Santa Família is home to Benedictine nuns in Manacor, on the island of Majorca (Balearic Islands, Spain). The community traces its origins to the Serventes de la Santa Família, a Majorcan congregation founded in 1907. In 1964, the sisters requested to adopt the Rule of Saint Benedict, and the community was established as a Benedictine monastery on April 10, 1969, retaining its name.

That same year, the monastery joined the Catalan Federation of Benedictine Nuns. In 2016, it merged with the monastery of Sant Benet de Montserrat: the nuns residing in Manacor have since been members of that community. The sources consulted make no mention of guest accommodation.
