The Monestir de Santa Maria de Poblet is a Cistercian abbey (Cistercian Order, Congregation of the Crown of Aragon) located in the municipality of Vimbodí i Poblet, in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia (Spain). Founded in the 12th century, it served as the royal pantheon of the kings of Aragon. Abandoned in the 19th century, it was restored beginning in 1930, and a group of four Italian Cistercian monks resettled there in 1940.
The monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is open to visitors. The monks maintain a small internal guest house reserved for men, who may share in the life, prayer, and work of the community. A hotel, a shop, and a museum space round out the welcome.
