The Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Valldonzella is home to a community of Cistercian nuns in the Bonanova neighborhood of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). Founded around 1147 in the woods of Collserola, the community joined the Cistercian order in the 13th century. It moved several times before settling in 1913 in the current monastery, built in the Modernista style, whose church was consecrated in 1922.
The sisters follow the Rule of Saint Benedict and open their liturgy to the public: Lauds, Mass, Sext, Vespers, and Compline. The monastery has a guest house for rest and recollection. A guided tour takes place every Thursday, and the sisters run a shop selling handcrafted goods and printed works.
