St. Dominic's Monastery

Linden Founded in 2008

Nuns

Saint Dominic's Monastery is a monastery of cloistered Dominican nuns located in Linden, Virginia, in the United States, on Blue Mountain overlooking the Shenandoah Valley. The community traces its origins to a foundation made in 1907 in Baker City, Oregon, established from the monastery in Union City. It spent nearly 75 years in the diocese of La Crosse, then moved to Washington beginning in 1984.

The sisters settled in Linden on June 24, 2008, in a monastery built on a former orchard. There they lead a contemplative life of prayer, silence, study, and work. A campaign is underway to build the permanent chapel. The site does not describe any retreatant hospitality.
