Visitation Monastery in Paris

Paris

Visitandines Nuns

The Visitation Monastery on avenue Denfert-Rochereau, in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, is home to a community of nuns of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary, founded by Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Jane de Chantal. The Eucharist, Lauds, the midday office, and Vespers, followed by the rosary, are celebrated there each day.

Women may make an individual retreat within the enclosure, lasting from one to eight days, for up to five people at a time. The monastery also welcomes female students for the academic year, in individual rooms. The sisters produce unconsecrated hosts for parishes and communities, and sell books on Salesian spirituality, honey from the monastery's beehives, and handcrafted items.
