Visitation Monastery of Annecy

Founded in Annecy in the early 17th century, the Order of the Visitation to which the sisters belong is still active! In joy and fraternity, the sisters of the community gather and sing Lauds at 8:30 am and Vespers at 5:30 pm at the Basilica of the Visitation. And for good reason, pilgrims from around the world flock there to pray before the tombs of the two founders of the Order: Francis de Sales (1567-1622) and Jane Frances de Chantal (1572-1641). Alongside their life of prayer, the sisters create liturgical vestments and produce honey (with the help of bees, of course).
