Forgiveness workshop at Mont Saint-Michel (session reserved for women)

Four days to learn how to forgive

7 – July 10, 2026 Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey Manche 8 places
Forgiveness workshop at Mont Saint-Michel (session reserved for women)

Finding freedom through forgiveness

Many obstacles block our path toward light and life.

Among these obstacles are the wounds caused by others, whoever they may be. Father, mother, brother or sister, employer, colleague, friend... The list can be long. And even if we tell ourselves it's forgotten, that it was nothing, that we're too sensitive..., some wounds stubbornly resist our desire to forget.

Forgiveness is not the same as forgetting.

Programme

  • Since forgiving is a genuine choice, the first step of the inner pilgrimage that this workshop represents will be to consciously choose not to seek revenge and to put an end to hurtful behavior.
  • Participants will then move through stages of a psychological nature, designed to "cleanse" their inner world of any overwhelming emotions tied to the offense. A wound naturally brings anger, sadness, and even shame... These emotions are entirely legitimate, but when they are too present, they prevent the process of forgiveness from unfolding: our entire inner life becomes contaminated by the poison of the offense.
  • We will take time to listen to these wounded parts of ourselves, and allow them to be expressed...
  • How? J. Monbourquette, in his work How to Forgive, has established a process made up of concrete, achievable steps, a journey that respects each person's resistance and reality, and that ultimately allows movement toward the path of forgiveness and inner peace.
  • Participants will also experience self-forgiveness, a major step in this process.
  • Finally, no one can force forgiveness. But this work of cleansing the wound caused by the offense gradually creates space within: a place to receive the grace of forgiveness, when the time is right. Forgiveness is an overflowing of Love.
  • This type of workshop includes time for teaching, time for sharing in pairs and in the larger group, as well as time for inner reflection and meditation.
