Praying in the Ignatian spirituality
Three days to experience, according to the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius, an encounter with the Lord in prayer, listening to his Word, and to learn to recognize him in your personal life.
Personal spiritual direction in a retreat following the Spiritual Exercises
The personal spiritual direction we offer in Jesuit spiritual centers is inspired by the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.
It helps you through reviewing daily prayer times based on texts from the Bible and also through reviewing your life to seek and find God in all things, to respond to your desire to know Christ better and, listening to the Word, to make choices for the future in order to follow him more closely.
What is it about?
- Spiritual direction is a very ancient practice in the Church.
- It involves speaking to a brother or sister in faith about what makes up one's life and prayer in order to discover God at work in all aspects of existence with its shadows and lights.
- The spiritual director is a believer, also engaged in the same search for God and trained in Ignatian spiritual direction.
- The director walks alongside the directee to help them free themselves from the obstacles that hinder them, at the stage where they are in their life and in the vocation that is theirs.
- The director and directee listen together to the Spirit.
- The director is bound to confidentiality.
