Praying in the Ignatian spirituality

Three days to experience, according to the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius, an encounter with the Lord in prayer, listening to his Word, and to learn to recognize him in one's personal life.

Personal guidance in a spiritual retreat following the Exercises

The personal guidance we offer in Jesuit spiritual centers is inspired by the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.

It helps you through the review of daily prayer times based on texts from the Bible and also through the review of your life to seek and find God in all things, to respond to your desire to know Christ better and, listening to the Word, to make choices for the future in order to follow him more closely.

What is this about?

  • Spiritual direction is a very ancient practice in the Church.
  • It involves talking to a brother or sister in the faith about what shapes one's life and prayer in order to discover God at work in all aspects of existence with its shadows and lights.
  • The spiritual director is a believer, also engaged in the same search for God and trained in Ignatian spiritual direction.
  • They walk alongside the person being accompanied to help them free themselves from the obstacles that hinder them, at whatever stage they are in their life and in the vocation that is theirs.
  • The spiritual director and the person being accompanied together place themselves in listening to the Spirit.
  • The spiritual director is bound to confidentiality.
