Praying in the Ignatian spirituality

Five days to experience, according to the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius, an encounter with the Lord in prayer, listening to his Word, and learning to recognize him in one's personal life.

Personal spiritual direction in a retreat based on the Exercises

The personal spiritual direction we offer in Jesuit spiritual centers is inspired by the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.

It helps you through the review of daily prayer times based on Bible texts and also through the review of your life to seek and find God in all things, to respond to your desire to know Christ better and, listening to the Word, to make choices for the future in order to follow him more closely.

What is it about?

    • Spiritual direction is a very ancient practice in the Church.
    • It involves speaking with a brother or sister in faith about what makes up one's life and prayer to discover God at work in all aspects of existence with its shadows and lights.
    • The spiritual director is a believer, also engaged in the same search for God and trained in Ignatian spiritual direction.
    • He or she walks alongside the directee to help them free themselves from the obstacles that hinder them, at whatever stage they are in their life and in the vocation that is theirs.
    • The director and directee together put themselves in a posture of listening to the Spirit.
    • The spiritual director is bound to confidentiality.
