A retreat at Saint-Michel de Kergonan Abbey
All year long, the guest house welcomes young women who are questioning a possible religious vocation and who want to experience the life of the sisters or simply take time to reflect on it, far from the noise of the city and the ringing of phones, and to discuss it with a sister.
This first contact mainly consists of living at the rhythm of the community, while remaining on the side of the faithful, and meeting with a sister to exchange and share your questions, who can help you gain clarity.
This type of retreat takes place over 4-5 days, depending on availability.
Program at the abbey
- Participation in the divine offices (community prayers) and Mass, in Latin and Gregorian chant (Ordinary Form)
- Each morning, before Mass: Bible reading with a sister
- Teaching on the universal vocation of every person, woman in God's plan, Benedictine life
- Short work period in the enclosure
- Exchange with a nun
- And, of course, free time to walk, reflect, meditate...
This immersion allows you to discover Benedictine life and be immersed in Gregorian liturgy. The teachings are varied, covering prayer, an introduction to Gregorian chant, the discovery of the interior life, and also discernment, lectio divina, feminine vocation, etc.
Retreatants sleep and take their meals at the guest house.
