"My eyes have seen your salvation" (Luke 2:30)

In anticipation of the feast of the presentation of Jesus in the temple on February 2 by Mary and Joseph, a spiritual weekend on the personal offering of our lives and the joy of giving ourselves in commitment or mission.

  • In light of the offering that Jesus makes of his person to save us through his holy humanity, this weekend is an invitation to contemplate that human happiness lies in giving ourselves personally to God and to our neighbor in love and charity.

  • Together, we will rediscover from a philosophical and theological perspective how love, friendship, and charity urge us to give ourselves generously even in our persons, to commit ourselves by letting go of our own will to turn toward God and toward our brothers and sisters in humanity.

  • We will look at biblical examples to consider the joy of giving ourselves.

  • We will see the embodiment of this joy of total gift in our Lord, the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, and the saints.

"To love is to give everything and to give oneself" (Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, PN54)
