Program
- Maurice Zundel (1897-1975) was a Swiss priest, philosopher, and theologian whose thought profoundly marked the 20th century through his revolutionary approach to God and humanity.
- At the center of his spirituality is the conviction that God is not "outside" but reveals himself in the deepest part of our being, a God of Presence who dwells within us and calls us to become fully ourselves.
Father Didier Vernay, a deep expert on Maurice Zundel's work, will accompany us during this weekend to:
- discover the richness and power of Zundel's spirituality: understand how he invites us to turn away from the image of a distant, external God to encounter a God who gives himself in the secret of our interiority,
- experience the "God within": through teachings, times of meditation and silence, learn to recognize this divine Presence that constitutes and liberates us.
- allow ourselves to be transformed by the Gospel: according to Zundel, the Gospel reveals to us the God within and pushes us toward constant self-transcendence, toward greater freedom and authentic charity.
- learn to "be" rather than to "have": return to what is essential, declutter ourselves from false pretenses and possessions to make full room for our deep being, image of the living God.
The retreat will be structured around teachings by Father Didier Vernay, times of prayer and silent meditation, sharing, and celebrations.
This is an invitation to a journey into the heart of oneself, to discover there the inexhaustible source of Life, Love, and Freedom that God offers us.
Practical information
- If you have a special diet: please specify this when registering so the kitchen can accommodate it.
- The sheets and towels are provided by the center and placed on your bed.
- WiFi is available throughout the facility.
- Bring your Bible (if you have one), notebook, and pen.
- The 12-hectare park, library, and lounge are available to all retreatants
Getting here
- By car from Redon: direction La Gacilly then La Roche du Theil (La Roche du Theil - Google Maps)
- By train: Redon TGV station, located 6 minutes from the center. Taxi service available.
- Upon arrival, check in at the reception to get your key.
Financial participation
- Contribution to expenses: 6 days €510 (tourist tax not included)
- The retreat price includes accommodation, meals, the meeting room, and the retreat leader.
- To confirm your registration, you will be asked for a deposit of 30% of the retreat amount. In case of cancellation, any amount paid to the Center remains acquired by the Center except in case of cancellation by the Center.
