Maison de la Visitation à Tazert
Morocco
A retreat at the foot of the Atlas Mountains
In Tazert, 60 km east of Marrakech, the Maison de la Visitation sits against the first foothills of the Atlas Mountains, one kilometer from the village. Since 2019, the Sisters of Saint Francis of Assisi have offered a small hospitality there, in a place of silence and prayer that has been inhabited since 1931.
The house welcomes individuals and groups seeking peace, silence, and simplicity, with an emphasis on encounter and renewal. It also invites guests to discover the interreligious history of the village and the experience of living the Christian faith in Morocco.
