Clay and Prayer Retreat Workshop

This workshop is a particular form of retreat, born from a meeting: that of a ceramic artist, a Christian of Protestant faith, and a Catholic community of Benedictine nuns.

Its aim is to accompany participants in discovering or deepening the relationship between the creature and the Creator, through a twofold experience:

• in the morning, the reading and group sharing of various texts from the Bible and the Christian tradition, meditated on in personal prayer,
• in the afternoon, the hands-on experience of clay modeling.

• Arrival on Sunday afternoon, before 5:00 PM (the time of Sunday Vespers) or at 5:45 PM.
• Opening with an introductory meeting at 6:00 PM

Each day

• 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM: group reading and meditation on texts
• 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM: clay work
• End on Friday evening at 5:30 PM, after a group review of the workshop
• Option to stay Friday evening for dinner and overnight
• Participation in the community's Offices is optional: 7:30 AM Lauds, 9:30 AM Mass with Terce, 12:10 PM Midday Hour, 5:45 PM Vespers, 8:00 PM Compline and Readings

Important information:

• Please bring a Bible, notebook, apron, pencils, etc.
• Monastère La Paix Notre Dame is set in a beautiful, peaceful landscape in the Loir valley.
• The guest house has 8 rooms with a washbasin, 6 single rooms and 2 rooms for couples; shared showers and restrooms on each floor.
• You may bring your own sheets and towels, but they can also be provided.
• Meals are prepared by the community and taken together in the guest house dining room. (Self-catering is not possible.)
• If you have a special diet, please let us know at the time of registration.

Financial contribution:

Room and meals: €240, total training cost: €260. Total = €500

If this cost presents a difficulty for anyone, please do not hesitate to speak with us.

NB: For those from the local area who will not be staying overnight, €140 for meals + €260 for the workshop. Total = €400
