The 2026 encounters: a series on Freedom

  • From May 14 to 17, 2026, on the occasion of the Ascension feast, a first series of encounters will inaugurate a sequence of events centered on Saint Mary Magdalene.

  • This edition will focus on the theme of "Freedom," explored through dialogues between speakers from the fields of theology, philosophy, and psychology.

  • In the exceptional setting of the Sainte-Baume sanctuary, these days will alternate between lectures, discussions on texts, and times of prayer.

  • A vigil at the cave where Mary Magdalene lived will be organized on Friday, May 30, offering a time of interiority in this emblematic place.

With experts on Mary Magdalene and witnesses who will bring their insights on these questions through lectures, debates, and testimony: Claire de St Lager, Rebecca Rethière, Fr. Paul-Dominique de Malet, O.P., Fr. Renaud Silly, O.P., Sébastien Coudroy, Iris Lagoda, Fr. Patrick-Marie Bozo, O.P., Martine Guillot...

Beyond the lectures, this gathering will also be an opportunity to:

    • share our reflections during discussions on texts
    • meet other people inspired by Mary Magdalene and her spirituality
    • deepen our relationship with God through times of prayer.
