In a world where political, technological, and economic powers seek to fascinate us, control everything, and even claim to save us, let us deepen our Christian hope and strengthen our resistance to contemporary idols.
Alexandra Yannicopoulos Boulet will offer a talk of approximately 30 minutes each morning and afternoon. Biblical texts with guidance to support personal meditation and prayer will be provided for each half-day, along with brief excerpts from William Cavanaugh and some of the authors he draws upon, including Saint Augustine and The City of God.
Participation in the divine office is possible (Lauds at 7:45 a.m., Mass at 11:45 a.m., Vespers at 6:45 p.m.).
A peaceful, green setting conducive to meditation and walking.
Provisional program outline:
- Day 1: Idolatry, our perpetual temptation.
- Day 2: Political powers: gift or danger?
- Day 3: In the City, the voice and freedom of the prophets.
- Day 4: The Church, a Eucharistic community of resistance and hope.
- Day 5: From idolatry to the sanctification of all things.
- Full board from Sunday late afternoon to Saturday morning.
- You are welcome to bring your own bed linens and towels, or rent them on site (€10).
Financial contribution:
- Full board in a private room with private bathroom: €490.
- Full board in a private room with washbasin.
- Shared shower and restrooms: €428.
- Program fees: €120.
