Discover a high-altitude place and experience mountain living
Chalet Notre-Dame des Refuges is a chalet perched at 1,360 meters altitude in a charming small Savoie village. Set in pristine nature, it offers in summer the opportunity to roam numerous hiking trails and, in winter, to try snowshoeing or ski touring and cross-country skiing.
The chalet maintains a family-friendly size, with 14 rooms featuring individual bathrooms and 22 comfortable beds. It even has a chapel!

Notre-Dame des Refuges, a charming chalet in Savoie
The place belonged to the Foyers de charité until the end of 2020. The chalet is now managed by an association continuing to maintain a spiritual connection with the Foyers de charité while relying firmly on the dioceses of Savoie. This association called upon a couple, Damien and Nathalie, sent to live out a new mission focused on spiritual hospitality for various groups.
Since then, they have embraced their task with kindness and a great sense of hospitality, giving the chalet a warm atmosphere offering visitors an experience of almost family-like retreat!
Damien and Nathalie organize retreats at Notre-Dame des Refuges that they co-lead with priests. But they more generally offer hospitality to all visitors, committed believers as well as those less certain, or simple wanderers seeking peace and silence!

What to expect during your stay
A personalized spiritual retreat at Chalet Notre-Dame des Refuges
Many different retreats are offered for visitors to Notre-Dame des Refuges, including retreats for young people and preached retreats of 5 days in silence. Nathalie and Damien also welcome young people wishing to study for their exams, their BAFA certification, or prepare for one of their sacraments. They also offer retreat weeks for couples or priests wishing to find renewal for a few days.
The chalet is also accustomed to opening to larger groups for parish days and seminary start-of-year weekends. The chalet can even be left for independent management, if the purpose of the stay is spiritual!
During these retreats, visitors are invited to enjoy some dreamlike hikes under the summer sun, or, more sportily, magnificent walks with snowshoes and cross-country skiing in winter. For those who might find themselves at leisure, they can also garden, do woodcutting, and carpentry.
In short, there's something for all ages and all tastes! Whether you want to work, rest, listen, contemplate, or pray, you'll find your happiness at Chalet Notre-Dame des Refuges.

Find renewal in a peaceful mountain setting
The chalet can accommodate up to twenty people for sleeping and thirty for meals in its large dining room. The twenty-four beds are distributed across fourteen rooms, all equipped with individual bathrooms.
While retreatants don't share their bathrooms, they benefit from an exceptional place to live as a group with a common living room and its fireplace (so appreciated in winter!), as well as a conference room, where musicians will find a piano, and a large garden.
When the athletic members of the group are lost in the mountains, those who feel more purely spiritual will have at their disposal the chalet's well-stocked libraries to nourish themselves with knowledge and fine literature. Nathalie and Damien care for the health of the soul as well as that of the body of their guests!
