Champagne Abbey
Saint-Pierre de Champagne Abbey, located between Lyon and Valence, is home to the community of Canons Regular of Saint Victor.
Throughout the year, they welcome you for times of encounter, spiritual renewal, and formation. Men and women, young people or adults, individuals or groups, engaged couples, married couples or families, all are welcome to share the life of the community during a stay!
Retreats organized by the community
The members of the Champagne community are Canons Regular of Saint Victor. They dedicate themselves to parish ministry, the celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours, studies, and missions.
At Champagne Abbey, the Canons Regular of Saint Victor
They are present at Saint-Pierre Champagne Abbey... but also at the priories of Marie Médiatrice (Montbron, in Charente), of Chancelade (Notre-Dame de Chancelade Abbey, near Périgueux), of Saint Augustin (Bourg-lès-Valence, in Drôme), and of Notre-Dame de Bethléem (Bassotu... in Tanzania!).
In short, a community that has inspired people all the way to Tanzania, that's really something!

- The village church of Champagne is an admirable Romanesque building dating from the early 12th century in which the abbey canons' offices are celebrated daily. Good to know: Guests can request a detailed and unique tour of this building!
- For lovers of Creation's bounty, in addition to countless high-quality wine cellars, a remarkable distillery is located just 3 km from the abbey. You can walk back...
- If you don't know the region well, take the opportunity to stop and discover Vienne (30 minutes by car) or Lyon (50 minutes).
- Not far from Saint-Pierre de Champagne Abbey (20 minutes by car) is the Foyer de Charité of Chateauneuf de Galaure. This will be an opportunity to discover the message of Marthe Robin and to meditate in the place where she lived.
