Retreats organized by the community

A devoted, joyful and welcoming community in Roquefort-les-Pins!
The vocation of the international work of the Foyers de Charité is to give everyone the opportunity to find renewal and regain the strength to do good around them. It is open to believers, but also to people who do not have faith. Hospitality is therefore at the heart of its vocation in order to create spaces of beauty and kindness.
The daily life of the Foyer members is divided between prayer life, fraternal life, and work life. All positions are related to welcoming guests and maintaining a house designed to receive you in the best possible conditions.
The community includes twenty-five people, men and women, lay and priests, single or married, from various socio-cultural backgrounds. Committed to the "Église Verte" Collective, it strives to deploy an ecological orientation in all areas. The vegetable garden is one of the concrete expressions of this.
Shortly after its creation, at the same location, the Foyer opened a school seeking to transmit the same values. The central building is the community's living space where it gathers with guests for meals.

A retreat time at a Foyer de Charité
The Foyer de Charité of Côte d'Azur, founded in 1950 in Roquefort-les-Pins, at the site of the sanctuary of the Sacred Heart, belongs to the work of the Foyers de Charité, founded in 1936 under the impetus of Marthe Robin and Father Georges Finet in Châteauneuf-de-Galaure, in the Drôme.
It currently includes more than 70 Foyers spread across 4 continents. The Foyers de Charité bring together lay people, men and women, living in community. They share a life of family, prayer and work in the service of all those they welcome.
The Foyers de Charité have gradually specialized in leading spiritual retreats of Christian formation open to all. Community life is a pillar of life in these places: community members share their goods, skills, and charisms.
And to discover other Foyers de Charité, you can visit the one in Sufferchoix or the one in Courset further north!

What to expect during your stay
Living a spiritual retreat time on the French Riviera
Different types of retreats are offered:
- 5-day retreats for the most part but also 3-day retreats
- Themes related to the Bible to enter into a better knowledge of the Word of God and make it alive in one's life
- Subjects to (re)visit the foundations of faith
- Retreats deepening a particular theme
- Retreats integrating a particular approach, with workshops to help integrate this word with one's whole person
In all retreats, spiritual guidance is offered by trained individuals. The workshops usually offered are: lectio divina, Vittoz, painting, calligraphy, writing...
Whatever the motivations, the spiritual retreat marks a pause, in a place conducive to interiority. The setting, silence and rhythm of the retreat are all elements that nurture and ensure the beauty of this privileged time.

Accommodation offered at the Foyer de Roquefort-Côte d'Azur
3 buildings spread throughout the park are reserved for accommodation. In total, they represent about forty rooms and can accommodate 50 people!
Each person has an individual room, either with full bathroom facilities (toilet, shower and sink), or with sink and shower. Rooms for couples are also available with full bathroom facilities and one wheelchair-accessible room.
Two rooms are dedicated to gathering times: conferences, meetings, general assemblies... and times of personal or communal prayer are experienced in the crypt. Access to the crypt and the oratory (in the main building) is free and accessible to all.
The patio with its Mediterranean colors and style is a much-appreciated place for meditation and outdoor meals in the warm season. Meals are taken in silence, and in the evening with the community. Special attention to balanced and healthy food is the rule. And for several years, a vegetable garden has enriched the daily meals (according to the seasons).
