Discover the Puits de Jacob: a place of sharing, spirituality and welcome near Strasbourg
In 1985, the community settled at Maison de la Thumenau, near Strasbourg. This place has become a warm welcome center, where people from different backgrounds come seeking new breath for their lives.
In a spirit of ecology and openness, the house was renovated in 2018, with a large chapel and modernized spaces.
Today, the Puits de Jacob continues to grow. In 2022, the community launched a project to build a new building, in order to welcome even more people, particularly young people in formation and its oldest members.

A warm and committed spiritual community in Strasbourg and Togo
The Puits de Jacob is a vibrant and welcoming community born from the Charismatic Renewal, officially recognized by the Church in 1995. It brings together men and women, single or in families, who live on-site or elsewhere, all committed to sharing their faith and talents to help others rebuild and find balance in their lives. Their mission comes to life at the Maison d'accueil de la Thumenau, near Strasbourg, where varied activities are offered: moments of prayer, practical workshops in a vegetable garden or park, enriching discussions, and personalized accompaniment.
From the beginning, the community has given special attention to ecology. In 2019, it received the Église Verte label, confirming its commitment to the planet. This spirit of openness and commitment extends beyond borders: in 2002, the Puits de Jacob established itself in Togo, responding to the call of a local bishop. Since then, a medical center and projects for human and ecological development have developed there, in close collaboration with local teams.
At the heart of this community is a profound inspiration: the encounter with Jesus. Each member has experienced his love and forgiveness, which has transformed their lives. They wish to share this joy with others by offering a warm welcome and times of renewal. In everything they do, they seek to help people find inner peace, live healthy relationships, and care for creation.
The Puits de Jacob is also a simple and sincere fraternal life: people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds learn to live together with respect, listening and kindness. This community, deeply rooted in the Christian faith, remains open to all spiritual sensibilities and wishes to create connections beyond traditions.
