Burnout, how to bounce back?

Taking a breath to get through burnout

  • For several months you have been going through burnout: continuous stress and an overwhelming workload have led you to professional exhaustion. You can no longer invest yourself in your work, a loss of self-esteem makes you see everything negatively, your relationships with colleagues are marked by great tension, and this has also had an impact on your family life. You may even be on sick leave. This ordeal goes on...

  • This session can help you shed light on your situation by reviewing your life. How did I get here? What led me to where I am? What are the patterns that are holding me back?

  • But also: what inner strengths can I draw on, and how can I reconnect with them? How do I relate to myself, to others, and perhaps to God? How do I find renewal? How do I envision tomorrow?

Programme

  • Sessions at Penboc'h use the Ignatian approach of reviewing one's life, discernment, and listening to others, to oneself, and to the word of God. The goal is not to receive teachings, but to learn to draw more fully on our personal resources in order to choose in freedom.

  • Each session takes place in a small group of around 8 people. The atmosphere of silence helps to respect each person's journey, to settle, and to rest. The session alternates between times of personal reflection, group sharing, and free time to walk in nature.

  • You benefit from daily personal accompaniment.

  • A biblical text offered for meditation and reflection illuminates the path at each stage.

  • The life of the Center is shaped by times of communal prayer, Lauds, and the Eucharist.
